About us
The Parish was formed in 1901, and comprised of the churches of Llanfair-ar-y-bryn, 1890, St Illtyd, 1894, Dinas Mission, 1897, which were taken out of the Parish of Llantrisant and St. Barnabas Mission Church, 1897, which was taken out of the Parish of Llwynypia.
The corregated Mission Church of Saint Barnabas (now the Parish Hall) was superseded by the present stone building in 1915, and the old Parish Church of Llanfair-ar-y-bryn (Saint Mary's Church upon the hill) was closed and demolished in 1989
In 1919, Saint Illtyd's was separated form the Parish and became a Conventional District, and was created a separate Parish in 1921. In 1986 both Parishes were again joined together under the tittle of the Parish of "Dinas and Penygraig with Williamstown"
The Parish is part of the Diocese of Llandaff of The Church In Wales and part of the World Wide Anglican Communion. O God our Father, bless the family of the Church in our Benefice. May we accept one another as brothers and sisters, finding strength and joy in our life together. May we be a family open to all families of mankind that, in the Church, they may overcome all the hostilities and prejudices that might otherwise drive them apart. Christ has no body on earth but ours, no hands but ours, no feet but ours; ours are the eyes through which to look at Christ's compassion to the world, ours are the feet which he is to go about doing good, and ours are the hands with which he is to bless us and you, now.
