Charity Church Shop
We as a parish had wanted to do something for quite some time, some sort of out-reach in the community. A shop was suggested, but unfortunately, though there were some 4 shops vacant in Penygraig, no one wanted to rent us their premises. Then a shop, already in business was moving premises, and so I went to see the owner, who incidentally is also a committed Christian, and I walked out of his house ten minutes later with the keys to the shop. Now if that is not God at work, I don't what is. So, after a lot of hard work and begging and borrowing, we opened on the 16th August 2005, at 85, Tylacelyn Road, Penygraig. We provide good quality ladies and men's fashions at low prices. We also provide most other things that is needed to furnish a house.
In just over two years we have given away £35,000 to local good causes, our two local Churches, Dinas Mission and St Barnabas. We also support an orphanage, (St Joseph's) in Arequipa, in Peru.
If you would like to help us run the shop, or just as important, sort our goods on Monday evenings in St Barnabas Church hall, then you would be made most welcome.
